  Translation of Sahih Bukhari, Book 31:
  Fasting
  
  Volume 3, Book 31, Number 115:
  Narrated Talha bin 'Ubaid-Ullah:
  A bedouin with unkempt hair came to 
  Allah's Apostle and said, 'O Allah's Apostle! 
  Inform me what Allah has made compulsory 
  for me as regards the prayers.' He replied: 
  'You have to offer perfectly the five compulsory 
  prayers in a day and night (24 hours), 
  unless you want to pray Nawafil.' 
  The bedouin further asked, 
  'Inform me what Allah has made 
  compulsory for me as regards fasting.'
   He replied, 'You have to fast
   during the whole month of Ramadan, 
  unless you want to fast more as Nawafil.'
   The bedouin further asked, 'Tell me how much 
  Zakat Allah has enjoined on me.' 
  Thus, Allah's Apostle informed him about all the
   rules (i.e. fundamentals) of Islam. 
  The bedouin then said,
   'By Him Who has honored you,
   I will neither perform any
   Nawafil nor will I decrease
   what Allah has enjoined on me. 
  Allah's Apostle said, 
  'If he is saying the truth, he will succeed 
  (or he will be granted Paradise).'
  
  
  Volume 3, Book 31, Number 116:
  Narrated Ibn 'Umar:
  The Prophet observed the fast on the 
  10th of Muharram ('Ashura), and ordered
   (Muslims) to fast on that day, 
  but when the fasting of the month of Ramadan 
  was prescribed, the fasting of the
   'Ashura' was abandoned. 
  'Abdullah did not use to fast on that day unless 
  it coincided with his routine fasting by chance.

  Volume 3, Book 31, Number 127:
  Narrated Abu Huraira:
  The Prophet said, 'Whoever does
   not give up forged speech and 
  evil actions, 
  Allah is not in need of his 
  leaving his food and drink

  O moon-faced Beloved,
  the month of Ramadan has arrived.
  Cover the table
  and open the path of praise."
  
  The great Muslim poet Jalal al-Din Rumi sang about Ramadan in the 13th century AD (translation by A.J. Arberry):
  
  "The month of fasting has come, the emperor's banner has arrived; withhold your hand from food, the spirit's table has arrived.
  
  The soul has escaped from separation and bound nature's hands; the heart of error is defeated, the army of faith has arrived.
  
  Fasting is our sacrifice, it is the life of our soul; let us sacrifice all our body, since the soul has arrived as guest.
  
  Fortitude is as a sweet cloud, wisdom rains from it, because it was in such a month of fortitude that the Koran arrived.
  
  ...Wash your hands and your mouth, neither eat nor speak; seek that speech and that morsel which has come to the silent ones."
  
  Ramadan is the ninth month of the Muslim lunar year. It has double significance as this is the month that the Holy Quran was revealed to Prophet Muhammad and that night has been called the Night of Power - Layla-tul Qadr, the night where a single moment of enlightenment of the Noor of Allah converts the night into a period of Spiritual glory and majesty that touches eternity. Pious Muslims strive to make themselves pure, especially during this month, by ritual and spiritual observances to make ready for Companionship on High. This month has been declared sacred in the Holy Quran wherein Allah says:

  Forgetfully eating or drinking while fasting
  
  Abu Huraira related that Rasulullah said: If anyone forgets that he is fasting and eats or drinks he should complete his Siyam, for it is Allah who has fed him and given him drink (Bukhari, Muslim).

  Du'a (prayer) in the month of Ramadan Karim:
  
  
  The month of Ramadan Kareem is an opportunity given by the gracious Creator for His servants to come close to Him, seek forgiveness for their sins, and fulfillment of their needs. In the Glorious Qur'an, amidst an important discussion on the month of Ramadan Karim, the following ayat (verse), which apparently has no direct connection with Ramadan Kareem, is included: "And when my servants ask you about me, then surely I am near. I answer the prayer of the supplicant when he calls upon me, so respond to me, and believe in me, so that they may be led right." (2:186) Commentators agree that this is the most poignant of all the verses on the Divine human connection. The whole verse is based on the singular first person pronoun, which is repeated seven (7) times. It is a confirmation of the close relationship between man and His creator, and an assurance that he will be listened to when he calls upon Him.

  IMPORTANCE OF DUROOD SHAREEF (Salawat): What an Angel can't do?
  
  Shaikh Abul Futuh Razi narrates from the Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) that: He the Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) said, "On the night of Isra and Miraj (Shab-E-Meraj) when I ascended to the heavens, I saw an Angel who had a thousand hands. On each of his hands there were a thousand fingers, and he was counting something on them.
  
  I asked Jibreel (pbuh) as to who that Angel was, and what was he counting? Jibreel (pbuh) replied that the Angel had been appointed by Allah to count the drops of rain, so that it may be known as to how many drops have fallen down to the earth.
  
  I turned towards the Angel and asked him, "Do you know the total amount of the raindrops which have fallen down on the earth from the day Allah created this world till now"?
  
  To which he replied, "O Prophet of Allah! I swear by my Lord who has chosen you (as a blessing) for mankind, verily I know the total amount of raindrops fallen on the earth till now. Even to the extent that how many drops have fallen in the wilds, in the prosperous lands, in the gardens, and also in the cemetery."
  
  Then I told him that I was very much surprised by the power of his mind and intellect and the ability to remember, to which he replied, "O Prophet of Allah! Verily this ability to count proves futile when I try to count only one thing." I asked him as to what calculation was that. He replied, "When people of your Ummah gather at one place and send Salawat (Salat and salam) upon you, it is beyond my ability and capacity to count the rewards for it."

  دعای یک وردکی در مورد رمضان
  خدایا! رمضان را مانند جام جهانی هر چهارسال یکبار و هر بار در یک کشور بیاور و کشور قهرمان افغانستان را در مرحله مقدماتی حذف فرما! آمین
  یلدی جان ببخشی دگه خیر است که از وردک هستی
